After Daydream Island Resort was devastated by cyclone Debbie, Amicus was engaged by CCIG to deliver the multi-million dollar refurbishment project. The major works included redevelopment of the Transit Pavilion, Reception, Main Atrium Area, Waterfalls Restaurant, Lagoon Bar, all accommodation rooms, Mermaids Building, restaurants and a new Asian-inspired restaurant.
One of Daydream Island’s signature attractions, the Living Reef lagoons, was also upgraded and received some brand new features which is enhancing guest interaction. As the Principal Contractor on the site, Amicus was responsible for managing a 200+ labour force, multiple sub-contractors, island logistics, staff accommodation & welfare. The project budget was $82mil including swimming pool refurbishment and furniture supply as separate contracts.
A fully functional 4 Star Resort incorporating the largest outdoor living reef aquarium in the world. Daydream now accommodates up to 600 guests with five restaurants, three bars and two beautifully landscaped pools. High speed internet enables the resort to offer conference facilities unrivaled in the region. The Daydream Island refurbishment project was completed in early 2019.
