We provided extensive design consultation over a period of 3 months, assisting in the development of bespoke laboratory furniture.
All benches, frames and joinery were custom made by Australian companies to suit architectural requirements. Amicus value engineered elements of the project to fit in with the clients budget, which included sourcing Laminex chemical grade compact laminate as a more-than-suitable alternative to a superior and more expensive product. This laminate was also for splashbacks and skirting.
Unique to this project was the use of contrasting colours in the laboratory furniture design. Black frames and joinery are topped with white laminate edged with black trim. The labs are brought to life with vibrant orange feature walls and chairs.
The Project Manager was critical in driving the project to schedule and acted as the central conduit between the client side PM, Architect and other trades.
The team at Amicus are enthusiastic about “new age” labs - adding colour and vibrancy to create a fun and exciting learning experience.
