Background

The world leader in communications services, WPP, was keen to relocate to an A-grade office from Fortitude Valley to Stanley Street, in a whole new location overlooking the iconic Southbank, Brisbane. For this ambitious project, they appointed Amicus to fully coordinate the works and to be fully responsible for ensuring the transition took place with minimum disruption to staff. The most important goal was creating a brand-new fitout able to inspire staff members and clients while keeping alive the company’s core values and personality.

Solution

Partnering with The Bold Collective, Amicus was able to deliver a space which had numerous benefits such as an interconnecting staircase from the reception and a suite of client facing meeting spaces. It made sense to incorporate these existing elements and create a cosmetic overlay that would transform the environment to reflect more of an agency environment. Large communal bench seating and a central bar was the focus here to provide a more collaborative environment for their teams. They wanted the ability for staff to freely move around the agile workplace and offer alternative meeting/working spaces. Most importantly, it was critical to incorporate the brand without complicating the simplicity of the finishes and general aesthetic.

Benefit

The new workplace design was able to reflect on the overall company values and attitudes through a sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere, maintaining the feeling of spaciousness, creating flexible meeting rooms, providing functional workspaces and creating a more appealing kitchen and breakout space. As a result, employee mood, positivity and communication has increased substantially. Additionally, Amicus fulfilled in providing both an engaging and unique environment for clients. The project was delivered on time and on budget.
