Given Amicus’s niche expertise in office, laboratory and healthcare fitout, integration and collaboration, we were able to provide cost effective and functional design changes to ensure the build met budget. The stage 1 works included an electrical workshop, EMC Chamber, multiple PC2 lab environments and cleanrooms.

Given the nature of the works within the labs, copper coils were used beneath the floor substrate to ensure adequate earthing. The services had to be flexible, allowing the benches to be moveable and configurable. The result was ceiling mounted services, which provides a clear floor space when their use is not required.

The ‘project build space’, which is effectively a scientific manufacturing plant, is their ‘creative showcase space’, for suppliers and clients. The successful project was delivered through a combined effort of both Amicus’ experienced local Melbourne delivery team and the Sydney team.
