Case Study

Planet Innovation

Box Hill, Melbourne
750 sqm

Background

Planet Innovation (PI), a well-known Health-tech innovation company, relocated to Box Hill to build a cohesive and functional facility to attract cutting-edge healthcare start-ups.

Due to Amicus Labline’s success in managing Stage 1 of their laboratory construction and
design works, Planet Innovation further engaged Amicus to complete the office space, reception, and end of trip facilities.

Solution

Amicus provided a complete package of solutions including Workplace Strategy, Design & Construction and Technology. Our workplace strategist worked with the Planet Innovation team early in the program. With a new approach to flexible working ready to launch, leaders needed to agree on how this would be realised in the new workspace design. Through guided discussions, a clear set of principles were embraced by the team, aligning on the most important spaces in the office, demand, utilisation of desks and how to meet team needs in a highly flexible environment. By resolving these issues early, Planet Innovation confidently moved to the design phase with a clear vision and strategy.

Meticulously designed by MadeFor, the open plan and the neon sign creates a sense of excitement as you enter the space. The use of black paneling and large windows to separate the meeting rooms compliments the sleek kitchen with marble benches, providing a hint of sophistication. With functionality in mind, long bi-fold sliding doors connect the large meeting room with the main breakout area making it an inviting space to host events and conferences. To support the transition to a flexible workspace the updated offices included shared seating, a range of meeting rooms, booths, and break out spaces.

Additionally, Amicus introduced easy to use and to connect technology to boost collaboration, invite innovative thinking and improve user experience to support a digital workspace.

Benefit

Amicus were able to provide exceptional project management and coordination as Planet Innovation were guided through indepth workplace strategy design, concept development and workplace technology deployment. The unified Amicus keychain approach was a valuable asset, ensuring consistency throughout all stages and solidifying a strong relationship.

The overall project has improved brand image, collaboration, and created an attractive and functional hub for innovation.

Amicus’ leadership and management have been impressive. It is evident that the company has a strong focus on excellent service and professionalism. Being able to trust the team to deliver the customer needs and have open conversations were the important factors to the working relationship.
