As part of Hines’ development of T3, Amicus were appointed to work closely with the tenant Starbucks, to deliver a new home for the hospitality industry leaders. As a globally recognised name, it was important that their brand was communicated throughout the space, in not just colour palette but warmness and atmosphere akin to each one of their cafés. This was made possible by design partner Made For, meticulously bridging the design of the Starbucks brand with the signature natural wood structure of the T3 building.
Delivering a unique and functional workspace for Starbucks required prioritising technological integration from the outset. This first involved addressing and overcoming challenges related to the existing onsite conditions, which then allowed the Amicus Technology team to seamlessly integrate a Microsoft Teams conferencing system into the larger breakout space. This also supported background music and other content playback capabilities aiding to bring a lively atmosphere to the homely workspace.
The T3 building’s use of natural wood structures provided the foundation for a sustainable and organic aesthetic, with the warm tones of the wood echoing the rich, earthy hues of coffee itself. This natural palette was complemented by splashes of Starbucks’ signature green contrasting vibrantly against the wooden backdrop and alongside signage and motifs that communicated Starbucks’ company values and mission. These details, combined with the understated material selection, cultivated a homely, café-like atmosphere that both inspires and connects.
The delivery was seamless, adhering to the 56-day programme that was initially proposed in the early stages of the project. This is accredited to the delivery team who were instrumental in ensuring that each element of the project was meticulously planned and executed with a proactive approach to challenges. The integration of technology not only enhanced the functionality of the workspace but also future-proofed it, supporting a dynamic and collaborative work culture. Embedding this into thoughtful and innovative design creates a space that employees could feel connected to—a reflection of Starbucks’ commitment to hospitality, community and bettering human experience and connection.
