Background
Our involvement began early in the journey, working alongside the Gilchrist Connell team and their tenant representative as they considered their next move in Melbourne. Through this process, an opportunity emerged to secure space within 530 Collins Street, a GPT asset whose quality, location and presence aligned with the firm’s ambitions, and one we know well having delivered a number of successful projects there and built strong relationships with both the GPT team and our clients.
The project centred on shaping a workplace that could reflect the strength and professionalism of the Gilchrist Connell brand while supporting the way their people work day to day. The brief called for a space that balanced an impressive client experience with the practical needs of a growing legal team confident and refined in its expression, yet welcoming and highly functional.
The Melbourne office also became an important milestone for the firm, forming the first project in a broader national workplace rollout. As part of the process, design principles and guidelines were developed to support future Gilchrist Connell workplaces across Australia.
