With the ever-growing pool of talent that is the Melbourne Amicus team, arose the need for a larger workspace that also had to accommodate for more complex and inter-connected team activities in larger collaboration zones.
Having acquired the space next door, the goal was to merge the two spaces to create an environment fit and optimised for the flexible working style of Amicus. As the pride and joy of what we do here at Amicus, a new office fitout needed to emanate design style whilst creating a compelling experience for innovation and creativity.
The design concept revolves around a sophisticated Melbourne aesthetic that enhances team efficiency in various activities, including collaboration, client meetings, focused work, and team connectivity.
The Strategy team conducted in-depth interviews to gain insights into each team's needs, roles, aligning these with the organisation's broader strategic objectives. These insights guided the office layout, which features zoned spaces to maximise team efficiency and support dynamic working arrangements. The design includes a collaboration zone, design hub, long stay work points, engaging meeting rooms, breakout areas, focus zones, and short stay work points. These spaces embody Amicus' 'activity-based working' ethos, promoting flexibility and productivity tailored to the diverse workstyles of the Melbourne team.
This strategy is further enhanced by an invigorating palette of bold colours, feature lighting, and natural materials, underscoring an elegant and contemporary design style. The Amicus Technology team optimised the space by seamlessly integrating technology, particularly in breakout and design hub areas, as well as incorporating state-of-the-art functionality in the boardroom and meeting rooms.
The newly designed space not only enhances collaboration within and between teams but fosters connectivity in a hybrid working environment and exemplifies Amicus' unique capability to seamlessly integrate design and strategy. This amalgamation highlights the synergy between form and function, providing the Melbourne team with an inspiring atmosphere that promotes creativity, productivity and innovation through exemplary design and seamless technology.
