With a need to better represent their brand identity and to provide staff with more functional spaces in which they could thrive in their everyday roles, TelstraSuper chose Amicus as their design and construction partner. TelstraSuper were impressed by our attention to detail and responsiveness during the initial sketch plan and design briefing stage and also by our collaborative approach, in which we worked closely with their team, to ensure everyone had input.
The vision for the new space was to create a design that was both practical and motivating. The design needed to reflect the company values, which was achieved through strong references to branding, furniture that encouraged communication and conversations and comfortable spaces for both employees and clients. As one enters the space, hand-blown pendants and a timber slat wall creates a moody and warm waiting area. The large kitchen is located against the perimeter glazing and frames the movement and activity happening down on Queen St Mall. Light floods the room and warm tones of timber and stone benchtops create a refreshing aesthetic. The corner of the building is open plan and incorporates workstations which also look out onto the mall and allow natural light to flow into the space.
Amicus helped the client achieve their vision by creating a space which acted as an extension of their values. We created a more appealing and functional space ensuring each work zone, breakout area and training facility suited all team member’s needs. We also created a more inviting front of house sign in and waiting area, that welcomed clients warmly. As a result, a greater staff interaction was noted spending more time in the kitchen and breakout areas. The whole team was excited to move into a refreshing and appealing space and the energy towards the move was very positive.
