Location: Turbot Street, Brisbane

Completed: 2019

Background

QMT Law were looking to downscale from their existing oversized space, into a more compact and contemporary designed environment. The new design needed to incorporate smaller offices, more centralised open plan workstations and a more appealing kitchen and breakout space. Their existing space was large and inefficient causing communication issues between employees being spread throughout the tenancy. QMT Law selected Amicus to embrace this ambitious project due to our willingness to assist with preliminary sketch plans and ideation of their new office space.

Solution

Within 6 weeks, Amicus’ in-house design team was able to create a new, smaller space, which better met QMT Law’s needs and provided a more sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere. The layout of the offices and workstations now allows better communication and interaction between employees and makes better use of natural light throughout the space. The front of house waiting area has been enhanced with a sophisticated look and feel to ensure clients and visitors have the best experience. The warm timber tones and soft marble-like patterns in the kitchen and breakout, provide a more inviting and appealing space for employees to gather. Internal glazing allows views into the two meeting rooms and frosting provides privacy while allowing light into both spaces. A sneak peek of the offices is visible from the waiting area; this space sets the earthy, warm and sophisticated nature of the design. Adjacent to the waiting area is an open plan workspace and a centralised utility hub.

Benefit

A more sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere was created, maintaining the feeling of spaciousness while downsizing the floor plate, creating flexible meeting rooms, providing functional workspaces and creating a more appealing kitchen and breakout space. As a result, the employee mood, positivity and communication has increased substantially.
