Solution
The intent for the space encompassed a contemporary and impactful design, with striking feature elements to compliment the natural surroundings. The design concept explores light and form as a way of evoking different perspectives, achieved with the floorplan and finishes. A dynamic yet warm aesthetic adheres to the play on contrasts and inspires users to consider how they approach their workplace.
The design retained the existing kitchen while reworking the layout to ensure a seamless flow from the entryway to a spacious open hub. The cornerstone of the fitout ‘The Hub’, is a creatively designed space intended to not only impress visually but stimulate innovation, collaboration and productivity among employees. The area extends into the kitchen and breakout and transitions into the exterior courtyard, maximising the natural light throughout the floor plan. The juxtaposition of light and dark elements is achieved through deep bold accents and softened with warm timber tones. Notably, The Hub and breakout areas feature exposed ceilings painted in black, timber herringbone flooring and surrounded by exterior glazing, further emphasising the interplay of light and dark.
The design offered a variety of spaces that could be flexibly used to accommodate different work requirements, including formal meeting rooms, open collaborative areas, casual lounges for interactions, and quiet rooms for focused work. A sense of balance and harmony is acquired through different finishes strategically incorporated to maximise the zones’ purpose.
