Solution
Amicus, in collaboration with Studio Bide, embarked on a journey to renew the antiquated butchery, maintaining its heritage, and reflect its deep roots within the Kilcoy community.
The reimagined butchery stands as a welcoming and warm space, through nostalgic charm and contemporary design. Key design features such as hex and dot flooring, timber ceiling beams and navy joinery and cladding reflect a unique identity that echoes the sites history and the Kilcoy brand. Involvement from the local workers in the planning process ensured that the space authentically represented their daily activities. This hands on approach influenced the configuration of the front of house fridges, creating a curved arrangement for a more inviting and interactive customer experience. The open back of house design fosters a sense of connection, allowing the space to flow throughout.
Inspiration was drawn from Kilcoy’s pastures through visuals splayed across the back of the store, replicated in Kilcoy Global Foods’ corporate hub facility in Birtinya, also delivered by Amicus. A consistent brand identity aligns these spaces paying homage to a rich history and a well-known name in the industry.
