Freedom Finance

Background

During a period of rapid growth, Freedom Finance, a team of leading financial experts, were in need of a new and larger space to accommodate groups of employees previously situated in smaller tenancies across two levels of the building. This segregation resulted in a considerable decline in collaboration among teams and a lacking sense of unity which was a key driver for change.

With a focus on creating a new environment shared by all employees, Freedom Finance engaged Amicus to redesign and construct their new workspace at their existing St Kilda Road premises.

Solution

The exiting workspace is located on a unique octagonal footprint, occupying an entire floor with 360-degree views. As you exit the elevators, in one direction you see the black framed metal feature kitchen bar area as the central hub for collaboration and events. Looking north, you see the impressive open reception with views across the city and main meeting rooms branching out. Quiet focus rooms are tucked neatly around the core offering a variety of work points between workstations collaboration tables and focus spaces.

The brief was to establish a modern clean take on the ‘grungy urban’ Melbourne warehouse scene. Using a dramatic monochromatic base palette has helped to enhance pops of street art and furniture throughout. The space is luminous thanks to the numerous windows and natural light evenly transfusing throughout the entire floor. The splash of colours in the kitchen area convey a sense of happiness and ‘freedom’.

Benefit

The final product is an open, collaborative environment which enhances collaboration and socialisation among different teams. All employees can now enjoy the perks of being under the same roof and on the same level, with the benefit of a tailored bar to catch up with colleagues during downtime and after-work drinks.
